The Best Time Of My Life!!!

Tue, June 29, 2010

I can not believe I'm at 10 weeks back in my room sitting on a laptop ... The time in LA and Raleigh is rumgegangen so fast. It seems to me than it was yesterday, where I still deadly the stupid volcano was excited, and now everything is over ... It's somehow so funny ... it's as if I had never been away. Everything is as usual. Only I do not ...

Although it also does well to be back home, I will miss Los Angeles and in general everything totally. 10 weeks - despite everything - a long time, and you get so quickly to the people, the habits, the food, the language - and especially the prices. I use this very last entry of my diary U.S. in order for me and for to you the 10 weeks in the U.S. reflect on to highlight what is special, what is different and what I liked best and what made me rather annoyed.

Los Angeles - City of Angels
Los Angeles is a huge city. How huge, you realize the first time you fly over it for half an hour until we finally landed at LAX. It is hectic and chaotic, the traffic is terrible and people are somehow stressed constantly (and woe, you are going go no matter if it's green. Then there's a horn concerto).
Despite everything I've used very quickly. I'm now definitely sure - West LA is the place where I grow old and die, and before that, of course, want to live a long time. Although different in many ways or "worse" than in Switzerland - I love Los Angeles and especially the people. It's just perfect!

Buses
There are several buses in Los Angeles. The ones I have used regularly were the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, which I believe there are 12 lines, the Metro bus orange and red Metro Rapid Bus Line. The rate for the Big Blue Bus is 75CT, $ 1.25 for the other two. But since I regularly rode bus, I bought a week after the EZ Pass, available for $ 70 is valid for one month, and at all bus routes in addition to the Subway.
Furthermore, there is also the Culver City Bus, Mini Blue, Metro Rail (underground train) and some others.

Traffic Lights
The traffic lights in Los Angeles, or America in general, specifically. Since the roads in most cases run in parallel and as a grid, can be estimated more about, where and how long it is red. If it is red for the pedestrians, we see a red-orange hand. Can we run, the red hand to a white Mansgöggeli. As long as this white male lit, you can walk. After a while the male disappears and a flashing red hand appears next to it you can see the seconds that remain one, to cross the road before it turns green for drivers (and by that time will to be from the road down, believe me). The buses for crossing the road at the way red is $ 400. It's worth it somehow not.
Although this should not have, we are often simply ran over when we still had about 5 seconds ...;)

People
The people in Los Angeles is different (apart the fact that very few Americans, most are Hispanic or Asian). The mentality is different than in Switzerland. If you have a question is in fact everyone is ready to help you further, if he knows the answer. If you ever have any change for the bus (because you do not get a return as money), you may ride free. Do you offer an older person your place the bus, they say thank you for 10 minutes and tell you her half-life story and how nice it was to offer her the place. In the restaurants and shops up the employees ask first "Hi, how are you?" Asked us if everything is okay and say "Bye, have a good one" when you go.
Americans are perhaps sometimes a little crazy, but they are incredibly friendly and open. I have yet to meet anyone who has somehow come to me stupid. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish friendly from some other intention. For example, if you an elderly Man accosts you and asks questions. Since we know not, he wants to keep only small talk or if he possibly another in the head?
But in general people are really great and just a lot more like me. I feel there is so much more integrated than in my own country. I'm there, went to a church and every individual has welcomed me as if I had it for years, yet they have not known me. In America, few people have prejudices, or any other negative thoughts toward others before they do not know. I know that many Swiss have totally prejudiced against Americans, but people ... I'm in the ten weeks really know many Americans learned, and nothing like this is true!

Restaurants
So, the first surprising to what you, if you go the first time in an American restaurant, the prices. McDonald's, for example. A Big Mac costs about $ 3, a kids Meal (Happy Meal without toys, so to speak), 2.99 $.
you go to Subway, you get a 6-inch Turkey Sub with cookie for $ 4.99. In Switzerland, I pay for exactly the same twice.
the restaurant you get a huge pizza for 8 $, huge salads and burgers for 4-7 $.
The first thing that shocked you when you go for the first time in an American restaurant, is the bill. Unlike in Europe, here are namely Tax & Tip (tax and gratuity) not included. The tax is between 8 and 10 percent, the tip 18 to 20 percent. Then the food is no longer quite so cheap ...
But in most restaurants you get a Coke or something similar once ordered, free refills as long as you want. Water (unless in a bottle) is generally free and get you every time you visit, without even . Bestellen Before, during and ever after eating out by employees, to ask if everything is okay and if it tastes good. If you do not eat everything like you can order a box in each restaurant to take the rest. Payment is paid eventually.
ch, and here is drunk all general (except, eg, beer), always with a straw. I think I drink from now on, never again ... you just used to it, and it's a completely different drinking: know)

English
you, I love English. At first I was rather uncertain about the speech, because I never had the opportunity to correct it to learn and to practice. But after a while I was fluent and understandable, so most think I was ever here or speak English with someone at home. My Hostmom Joan told me after my first week, all the students that they ever had, I was the first who has spoken with the Californian "Slang" ... whether this is good or bad is another matter. I've's perceived as a compliment, as it was in some way, my goal is to sound like a native speaker ...;)
After a few weeks it has become really difficult to speak German and to think. If our Teacher asked us whether a certain rule or a certain word exists in our language, I had the greatest difficulty to find the German words, it was everything English in my head. And this after only 3 weeks. rotzdem people ask me again where does my accent. I will very likely not soon to go ... but most people respond positively when I say that I'm from Switzerland ...: P

Fast Food Restaurants & Coffee Shops
In America actually almost nothing is unique in that almost every restaurant and every coffee shop Part of a chain. That would be because, for example, McDonald's, Burger King, Subway, Danny's, Jack in the Box, In-n-Out Burger, Wendy's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, Starbucks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Peet's Coffee. These are all chains. Try
far I have only McDonald's, Subway, Danny's, In-n-Out Burger, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Starbucks and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. There
D aneb there Yogurtland, jamba juice and shop chains such as 7Eleven (a supermarket).
I've naturally already a brutally bad sense of direction, but this was all the more difficult, as each corner really just looks the same. At each corner is a McDonald's on every corner is a Starbucks on every corner is a CVS Pharmacy (alone around the school is the scandalous 3 pieces), and so on. It took three weeks, until I found my way in the vicinity of the school.
In Raleigh I then also went to a Chick-fil-A. This is a chicken fast food restaurant. Very yummy :-)
general, said that even though America is the land of fast food, because, especially in cities like LA anyway always a certain rush is there and somehow can never go fast enough. But it is different than ours, with us always means fast food burgers and fries. This is different in America. There is, first, a larger selection, and not just McDonald's and Burger King, and many things are not necessarily unhealthy.

Shops
The best-known stores are 7Eleven, Ralph's, CVS and Best Buy. The first two are mainly for food, but there are certain other things (in Ralph's get you just about everything, including the bus ticket). CVS, as mentioned before, is actually a pharmacy, but you can find anything there, and often even food and clothing. And Best Buy is the American version of the media market. There, I've bought such as a second battery for my camera and U.S. versions of the NCIS Seasons.

Food
I know I already have a section on restaurants and fast food, but I am now eating in general. For example, there are in LA about 10 different kinds of M & Ms. There is Snickers with almonds instead of peanuts or dark chocolate. They simply have a larger selection at all, and that's something I miss extreme. There are also cookies and donuts till you drop - two things that we are not really: (

Opening Hours & Sunday
Yeah, I have to be so! get used to that in Switzerland the day after the dinner over. Everything closes at 7 and Sunday you can do anything anyway.
in America really are almost all fast food restaurants and food stores open 24 hours. You can easily do after dinner somewhere what, even on Sunday. The only thing you realize in America that is Sunday, is that people go to church in the morning. There it is you really never get bored!

Hollywood
When I have come to me most people have said, Hollywood is not soo special. With correspondingly low expectations then I'm on 25 April, the first time gone - and was surprised. I LOVE Hollywood. It is not so, but I do not really special or. I just love it! I could spend days there without me it would be boring.
My absolute favorite place in Hollywood, to whom I am always turned back and I always return will return, the Hollywood & Highland Center, and behind them exploiting dividend Hollywood United Methodist Church on Franklin Ave. I just love to be there and watch the people with a Coke and a piece Lemoncake from Starbucks. Particularly during my last week in which I had no school and really every day in Hollywood, I've spent many hours on the roof of the h & h Center and just thinking. Up there are never many people there so you can pursue a calmer mind, write, draw, or simply do nothing.

Measures
Yes, America is already specifically in terms of units. I had indeed already accustomed to the new paper size, but that's not all: instead they centimeters inches instead of feet they have feet instead of miles they have Miles, they have instead of liters OZ, they have instead of Celsius Fahrenheit. It took a while until I got used to it that I buy a 20oz water bottle instead of a 500ml bottle (591ml 20oz are by the way, and I still do not know what to say really OZ ).
With the temperatures it was a bit easier. It did not take very long until I'm strapped, 68 ° F is freezing cold, even if it is for us Celsusianer for a damn hot summer sounds. Everything under 75-80 ° F can forget you ...
What I have also used relatively quickly, are the miles. Urban areas one can basically go 25 or 35 mph on highways outside cities to 45-55 and on the 65th Highway The navigation system then said "left in 2.5 miles, turn". Getting used to, but for European idiots like us, it's still as an image on the monitor shown that we know exactly when because we need to turn now ...

School
The ELC is really a great school. The teachers are great, the ladies in the office are great and the students (mostly) well. What was a little goofy: came to the 90-95% of the students from Switzerland, and few have spoken English constantly. Well.
The general atmosphere at school was great. The craving, the restaurant on the ground floor of the Avco-building, where the ELC in the 2nd Stock is located, it was delicious, freshly prepared food for 4-9 $. There are burgers, sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, fries, breakfast menus from time to pasta, wraps and more. In addition, there is also a small kiosk; there are candy bars, chips, drinks, coffee and pastries. There is also an ATM machine, where you can let out cash.

Friends
I met at school so many great people that my Facebook friends list is growing extreme. We have seen so many cool things are driven by half the land mass and have shot photos. We have experienced so much together, and each time it was extremely sad when someone had to go back. I had to adopt all the four really good friends before I, too, then on 19 I rose in June at LAX my plane.
But I am determined to most of them to meet again - perhaps at a reunion party times over the weekend:) I also have
yes also made American friends ... I very much hope that I can see again as soon as possible :-(

Host Families
Yes, were added in the first host family was not really a hit. Monica was nice and all, but not the lifestyle I just said yes.
'm just 2 ½ weeks, I then moved into the family of Nathan. Joan is really totally sweet, sometimes a little crazy, but lovable. It is strict and has a lot of rules, but basically the easy to follow, such as the short shower or always keep everything clean and so on.
Joan gave us cooked every night (when we were at home) a nice meal, varied and healthy, so I have no fear had to become obese. At noon I ate only what small, Subway or a salad craving.
When I was at home earlier in the evening, I have often looked to Joan or TV talk (she has even seen the NCIS finale with me - even if they do something dirty to me, purely because she talked constantly and rewound back has [no idea like the TV program here works] and then we have missed the part because she thought it draws on, but it did not).
After two weeks I've then also their twin sons, Nick and Steve met with whom I have also often been so funny.
am in my very last week, I moved again, as Joan and John, my host parents, "on vacation" were. I then for this week with Vicki and George, Joan and John's neighbors lived. They were also super nice, and I really enjoyed it!
to stay with a host family is really perfect. You pay $ 300 per week and can get for 2x what to eat, allowed to use electricity, water and internet and you learn along the way yet know the everyday American. Just what I wanted. And I had the opportunity, three to get to know (with Raleigh four) different ways of life.

Church
I know, actually I was even brought up atheist. Still, I just wanted to see how it is to go into a church. And it is wonderful.
Whether the now now on the church itself is, or simply because the people in the HUMC are so wonderful, I do not know. I do not care. In my last two weeks everything has turned around the HUMC and its people, and it was really a super good time. I've met so many great people, with a few I'm still in Facebook or Email Contact.
Not only was I there on two Sundays, but also on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday, so was the weekly "feed the homeless", on Wednesday, "Mighty Love" and on Friday, "AIDS Lunch". I think it's just hammer that these people committed so good for so many different things. And I would like to be part of it.
Once I live in LA, I will probably join the church and do what I always wanted to do: help people and find the faith in God and hopefully also to myself.

9 weeks Los Angeles - a balance sheet
I were to describe my time in LA with a word, it would be: Indescribable!
I can say without doubt that these nine weeks, the best time of my life. Never in my life (at least not since we moved to 2001) I've been so accepted. I got in the 9 weeks said many compliments and nice things, as before in the whole nineteen years. The first time I I have even been flirting of various types and such. I've just felt so at home that I now real "home" have hurt.
All I keep saying, yes, you're not the only, all others miss it too. Yes possible. But not like me. For me it's different. It's not just that I was just there, almost on holiday, party every night, during the day at school and stuff.
I am the life of the Americans built, I even went to church, have since helped and so on. I really feel part of something really to be a great thing, and now that I am no longer there, I have the feeling of missing something. I've even met people who convinced me to keep going at a time in which I would have liked the end. And now I'm so afraid that they forget me when I'm gone, because they tell me only once have seen. If I only had a week or two more ... then everything would be different.
But now I know really where I belong. I know I must be "complete" until my life here. I must make my teaching, this control everything. And then when my time comes (in 3 years I hope!) yes I know where I hinmuss. And the best thing is: I know that because I'm welcome where I go.

The time in this city has opened my eyes. I know I want to do, where do I want and where I belong. West LA / Hollywood is the place where I would live and die. Absolutely.

9 weeks Los Angeles - the best time of my life.

Going Home

Sat, June 26, 2010

On Saturday morning I got up at 8:30 am and have packed my bags ready. I went 9-10 again in bed and then got up final at 10:30. I'm down, have eaten NEN donut for breakfast and then I, at 11 clock something with Allison and Linda went to the airport. And while we were still on the freeway, I remembered that I forgot something ... my two pictures that I had with me .... hangepäckmässig Crap.

Well, whatever.
arrived at the airport, I said goodbye to Allison and Linda and then have me with my two suitcases, a laptop and my backpack to the check-in Switch fought when I had problems the first time.

first I was too dumb to check myself, so I had to help a woman. She has somehow made me questions I have not fully checked (I was tired and I'm always so nervous at the airport, they also had a nasty dialect) and I felt so stupid. They had to finally check in my luggage for me and then said that, I had to pay 50 dollars for my second case. She told me to slide the card into the card reader part, but what we're all know, does my credit card no more. So I had to leave the baggage and just run to the ATM, where I have my regular postcard at least another 60 $ given cash. As soon as I was back and had paid for the extra baggage, a man tells me that my case has large 4kg overweight. The woman can then asked me if I take out anything for 8 pounds from the large suitcase and get inside the small case. I told her, the only thing that really weighs 4kg are my rollerblades - and there is no chance that I get the small in the case. She said then that I had to repackage something, otherwise it cost 200 dollars, for international luggage overweight. Okay. That convinced me ...
was angry with other people in the neck so I opened my suitcase in the middle of the airport (fortunately nothing was embarrassing at the top ...) and then I remembered that I got my school books in the suitcase did. And voila, you'll take the 4kg textbooks (unbelievable that this really is 4kg!) Out of a suitcase and take them as hand luggage, and you have saved $ 200. Puuuuh, that was close!

went after this initial shock, then the Security Check. I am by now so used, I was not really nervous, actually. Shoes, backpack on the conveyor belt, laptop out of the bag, all in boxes and down to tape ... through the metal detector - but what is it?
from the band, I already saw it. A huge machine, like a shower, where people had to clean ... then they had to spread his arms and legs and were scanned and flashed. Wow. It must be this new body scanner?
Oh no. I do not want in the body scanner. Oh no! Snüff!
I am then, total despair, through the metal detector and straight to the guy in front of the scanner, and I have not looked sooo, that has meant to me with his hand to run through next. I've looked at the so stupid. Woah, luckily has not taken me for ne suspects.
WAH, I hate security checks!

Then, when I got my shoes back on their feet, the laptop was back in the bag and my backpack on my back, I'm on to my gate - C3, it was this time. After this tumult I was hungry. I went to a little thing and got me a "pocket Chocolate with nuts" bought. Mampf. I've sat down at the gate and then waited for 2 hours ...
in between times I've unpacked my laptop and tried to somehow get onto the Internet. Was Unfortunately not.

Then we were finally on the plane. The pilot told us right at the beginning that it would be "a bumpy ride", since it is a bit rough. And that was it, too. We were less than 2 minutes in the air, as we said already the first time, we would crash. And so it was actually us the whole flight. Fortunately, there were only 40 minutes.

Once in DC I was a bit totaaaal glad I get this time not all my luggage and had to go through customs. That was the last time .. maybe a theater!
My luggage was then passed directly, and so had I "only" my hand luggage. Way, there are a reason why the "only" is in sschen Gänsef ¨.
first time I've searched my gate, C23. For this I had to go through half of the airport, we are in fact arrived at Gate A. I had a little train to "Gates B - D" drive, then run through all the gates B and C through most gates until I finally was on the C23. I had hoped such a hungry and I want there to feed near my gate something decent. But nil. The only thing close was to Gate C23, was a small kiosk. But now I need lunch.
knew from last week, I still want it near the gate, where I flew to Raleigh, was a Subway (remember ... I had bought me a sandwich for clean lot of money just to then finding that there was a Subway next to my gate ... well).
Determined to eat Subway for lunch today, I got my backpack and laptop bag slung over again and am losmarschiert brave. "Food" was the motto on a sign. Go nuts not bad. Oh, and if you think that a treadmill in the middle of the airport, just like that along the ground, a stupid and idiotic Thing is: NO, it is not. Lovely!
I drove about 300m and then went ... where was the damn gate with Subway? -.-
perceived After two hours I was finally at Gate D23 - and the Subway. I have a 6-inch Turkey Sub with American Cheese (there was no Swiss) made, plus three White Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies (Chocolate Chip, there was no ...) and a bag of chips. The entire cost me about $ 6. I am running with my sub in tow (additional ballast!) All the shit back. At least, I thought, now I have some time rumgebracht. Ha think. A glance at the clock - the whole procedure - run to the run back pay pending,, - I was just cost around 15 minutes .... super ....
order again at the "only" come back ... Memo of myself: next time the laptop is flying in my suitcase and hand luggage has wheels ...!

I then got my sandwich to eat and waited. And waited. And waited. Until finally it was 5:15. Then we were finally on the plane. I was almost at the back - 35H. I've packed my laptop (which I can check next time, really) and I sat down. I was suddenly very tired, and I was beginning to think I would fall asleep. But no sooner had the aircraft in the air, I was wide awake. I've finally decided to watch one of the movies to kill time (sorry, 1:1 translation: to kill time:)). I got me a Valentine's Day "being looked at. Although there was a funny movie - but he plays in LA. Snüff. "Home" hurt.

some point during the film, at around 8, I think there's then Dinner: Rice with Chicken plus salad, a sandwich and a small chocolate cake. was

When the film ended, I was getting bored. Meanwhile, it was totally dark in the plane, you could sleep with them. I've tried everything to sleep, but somehow that did not fold easily. Well, I'll play containing some DSi, I thought. I got the thing open and turned on - and suddenly it was as bright as day in the aircraft. Oops. Sorry.
I then screwed the brightness all the way down and played some Tetris ... 4.5 million points in 2 hours. I still could not sleep yet. The only thing I've noticed that I was getting tired, was that I just shit in Tetris've built. But still I'm never died. At some point I had simply tired.

hurt While I was sitting in my 767 and have tried, rumzubringen the time, I've kind of total "home" get to LA. I was so sad that I really was on his way back to Switzerland. But then I turned the idea.
The time I spent in LA was really awesome. I was sad that I had at home. But the time in LA, my memories, my experiences, the people I've met - all this has affected me, strengthen and grow. I have met wonderful people I've met Pauley P. and know that I shall see her again when I go back ...
Now I know exactly what I want in my life. It's just too early for me. You must get I clean up my life in Switzerland. Click to get everything in order, finish my education and so on. And then when my time comes, yes I know where I hinmuss.

I do not remember how I finally rumgebracht time. There were then about 2 hours before landing a yogurt and a Fruchttäschli. Then, after landing, I first had to walk naturally again with laptop and backpack through half of the airport and finally take the little train. And people ... I know now why everybody thinks that Switzerland was the last Bauernkaff. We hear all the cows at the airport in the little train 2m below the ground! What was embarrassing to me ... all Americans have laughed full ... Oh dear ...

Then we had to go through passport control. And yet something typically Swiss: Sunday morning at 8:00 clock in tears at the Zurich airport, of course, no one from his leg. I've been waiting for 30 minutes (and there were not twenty people in front of me) until I finally got through the check was ... At least I did not have to wait for my luggage, which determines already 5 laps around more or ... I've packed everything and I am a Wägeli direction inches. Sip.

Only the day before I have discussed with my father, through which customs, I must - by the green (nothing to declare) or the red (declaration). Are not we really come to a common denominator ... Just that I do not always know how much it cost, and the stuff that I did everything schonmal needed, and it therefore eiiiigentlich not have to be declared. He finally told me I should just make through the green customs, with a group of people and without eye contact. That made the crowd do, but no eye contact when lying around since about 10 police officers?
Woah, I think the only other time where I was so nervous was when I scanned the black Ami at the embassy and gepiepst my pants button has ... But
it took me (thank goodness!) stopped no one. And 10 seconds later, I saw even my father and my friend.

It was kind of weird, suddenly hear again and speak German (even on the plane were not really all Americans). We are then driven home, where I first got my Hundie welcomes \u0026lt;3 Then there was a delicious brunch, afternoon I went 2 1 / 2 hours with friends and doggies out there and after that we chilled. Just a normal day. Until then I had

slept at 1 clock in the morning at last, I was over 33 hours of the night. But I feel at all jetlagged. Am a bit tired, but that is because yesterday I'm too late to bed, P Otherwise I feel nothing at all.

It still follows a very last entry ... Now I go out but still with my doggies. The Swiss perfectly ordinary everyday things changed for me ...

Bye!

Raleigh

Sat, June 26, 2010

Well, Raleigh was not very exciting now. It was way too hot as that one big what could have made. So I've decided to squeeze everything in one entry.

Most of the time we have seen movies or TV in general, usually to 2 or 3 clock in the morning. Yesterday, Friday, we are in a very special cinema gone. Admission was only $ 4.50. There was a restaurant with cinema! Real cool xD
The food was just pretty expensive ... I then finally $ 17 for a cheese-mushroom pizza and a glass of water paid. Well ...
We have looked at the way Robin Hood ... not recommended wirkich -.- 'he was bored xD Luckily I could deal with my pizza: P

Joa, much more we actually did not at all.

And now I sit here freshly showered and ready to start, because in less than an hour, we go to the Raleigh-Durham Airport, where anything by 14 clock departs for my flight to Washington, DC. And in unegfähr 17 hours I'm at home.

Friday & Saturday

Fri, June 18, 2010

On Friday, I'm sooo up early, at 6:15 am I had to in fact be at HUMC, where I, along with sandwiches and other prepared so at 9:30. At about 11:30 we went to the hospital where we have served the food then. So well, not really served. We just stood behind the tables, while the patients were able to take, wa they wanted:) There were sandwiches, fruit salad, vegetables, Chips and Capri Sun) are

At about 12:30 or 12:45, we then moved back and at 13:00 we were back at the church.
I've passed by all (snüffsnüff * *) and me off down the road to Hollywood Blvd. My last day ...
I wanted to have it now for 8 weeks a pair of Converse shoes, because they are simply too expensive muuuch in Switzerland. I went into a store where I got myself a nice pair of gray-white-red checkered Converse bought - for $ 40 (remember: in Switzerland you pay $ 45 - per shoe). I am then still in another shop, where I've found more Converse, to a unit or pair price of 39 $. Since I had to strike, of course ... a red and a purple pair that is still to come:))
Now I am the proud owner of three super-cool Converse shoe pairs hahaha:)

I then around 3:00 pn not know really what I do with my time should, and sit around in Hollywood made me somehow just depressed. So I'm gehopst on the bus and to Fairfax / Wilshire down, where I then took the 720 up to Santa Monica. In Santa Monica I am the 3rd Street Promenade in the Adidas store where I bought it for $ 70 Carmen's Adidasjäckli. Then I got me a bit of chocolate somewhere bought and just went to the beach. So, not to the beach, I was still up on the sidewalk, but I could see from there, holding the beach and the sea. I've then set the grass, leaning against a tree and dozed a bit because I was really tired. But I knew that I still evening for Happy Hour "had" - it was my last and had a lot of people said that they would come. So I had to go there for better or worse.
However, we had not agreed a time, I'm just so went back to Wilshire Blvd around 6:00 and then got the number 2 BigBlueBus taken to Westwood & Lindbrook, where it is only a block to the Westwood Brewery. But somehow no one was there except for three Japanese (of which I knew only one). Well, it was only 7:00, the others would surely come soon ...
But somehow no one showed up, I was hungry and was tired, and I just wanted to go home. I did not really feel like celebrating and I also had to pack plenty.

At 8:00 Makki then came and for 3 other Japanese girls who I knew only a little. I've passed by all and then went final, I had no desire to wait so long because I had a headache and was really broken.
I then briefly to what Subway and then eat at home. At 9:30 I was home.

I wanted to sleep really do not know as I always had to get up at 5:00. Since I was so tired but I am decided to lie down just 2-3 hours to pack and then, etc. I've also done, but when I'm woken up the next time, it was 5:10! !
In a Meeeegastress I had to pack my bags and see that everything fits inside. The toilet bag had somehow none of the trunk space, so I just packed it extreeem clever person in the backpack. The fact unaware that this would still be problems ...

are at 5:40, we then drove off. George, my Hostdad has brought me to the airport, drop me off at the entrance and is gone again. There I was. Before the building of the airport LAX, with a backpack, a laptop, a huge box (as my picture is in it) and two suitcases. I must have looked so insanely funny, when I hobbled to the check-in ....

At the check-in I've given up then my two suitcases (I had to speak with my own log-ticket number and credit card before anyone has come to give up my case). Then I'm almost to the gate.
then so I had to 6:40 mighty hungry, so I'm close to Starbucks and got me NEN Blueberry Muffin and bought a piece of Marble Cake. Mmm, yummy!

at 7:20 was then boarding time, and I think at 8:00 something we took off.
We were then just 4 hours later, already in DC, where I first introduced all the clocks in 3 hours. Then I ran toward the gate and I go a level seen with sandwiches for $ 6. I did not know where my gate was and if there was what to feed, so I just slammed. A Ham & Swiss sandwich, a bottle of water and a Kit Kat for $ 9. Ouch xD

To my annoyance I found then three minutes later, that there was a Subway next to my gate where I would have gotten the same thing for $ 5. Well, shit happens xD

I had to wait 2 1 / 2 hours because the flight was delayed. When we were finally on board, but it has barely lasted 30-45 minutes, and then we were already in Raleigh.

then I'm off the plane out where I have run out pretty soon and Linda Allison. We then went down to baggage claim where we least half an hour, if not longer, have been waiting for my bags. Then we are up to the parking, and when I - left the airport building - probably air-conditioned , I've run into a wall. My face is the HOT here! And not only hot but also humid hell!
And I had a long-sleeved T-shirt on, to say nothing of my jacket, boots and BigStar the trainer pants .... was pleasant, but ... I also had not showered for 2 days and I was constantly feel the sky to smell ..!

We are then on the way home went to Noodles & Co eat before we went to their house. Then a friend came over yet and we have seen two films (It's Cimplicated & Donnie Darko) before we then go to bed at 3:30 am are xD

On Thursday morning at 10:15 I had my Speaking Test. Well ... everyone with whom I speak here in America, admired, even my language skills and are all very excited about how I speak fluently ... Yes, if the only time in the test so I would hahaha
made general in tests or in class, though I know that I listen to all, very nervous and somehow bring nothing gscheit out. Once I even forget I have answered during the question and then I totally lost -.-
But the great happiness, though Dominic was asked the question, Theresa the one who made the notes. And yes they know that I'm usually better ..... I hope she has taken into account are the xD

After Speaking Livio and I went to Santa Monica, where I had to do a few things, and pretty soon I'll be gone home, because I start so had to pack .. .

Sailboat Math Problem

CAE Exam & Mighty Love

Wed, June 16, 2010

On Wednesday I had my CAE Exam . So, papers 1-4, Reading, Writing, Use of English and Listening.

My Hostmom had so totally scared that I'm late, so she drove me to the bus at 7:30 already ... super, I was just already there at 8:00 ... haha well, I'm just in the student lounge, chill out a bit ^ ^ I did not want more learning, which would make me very nervous and distracted only.

All students then had to notify the office before 9:00, with the test and confirmation of ID, ie ID or passport then we are then sorted by class, in rooms on the office floor in the 4. Stock has been divided (the ELC is on the 2nd floor). When we came into the room, I was first relieved totally. Our supervisor was Theresa. I knew her because she's Livio was a teacher, and I found them very nice. At 9:15
then things started our Reading Test. Normally I'm so with Reading and Listening on most issues. But this time it was actually quite ok. I can not judge's now really, but I believe it was not so bad xD

As always, I was of course much too early and had to be ready to wait, wait, wait ...
After Reading test, we had 15 minutes break before we then Paper 2 - Writing had. In Part 1 we had to write a report. I somehow hoped to total NEN report, but somehow I've then all of a sudden forget everything and believe fully the scrap written ... well ... In Part 2, I could choose between essay, Article, Review, and yet something, think again NEN Article. First I wanted to take even the review because I totally love to do. But the topic was totally stupid, I had to write the funniest movie I've ever seen. And I am in such a short somehow just "Love Vegas" occurred. But the plot is somehow so complicated that it is difficult to explain in a review with a word limit of 260 words. Leave in Article I'm always totally bad, it starts even with the fact that I'm too stupid to imagine me NEN good title.
'm So I finally decided to's essay. The topic was the pros and cons when working abroad. I found the topic of somehow fitting, since I will go so well in 3 or 4 years in the States and work here.
The only problem was that I had never written an essay.

Normally istr Writing Paper ... yes my best but well, this time I'm not so sure there somehow:) I see what happens hahaha:)

Paper 3 Use of English was, therefore, Vocabulary and Grammar. In Part 1, multiple-cloze choise, I am, as always, not at all safe, as it had since words and expressions that I knew not easy. Happy guessing ..!
Part 2 Open Cloze was sooo not that bad, even if the text is steep. Part 3, Word transformation was, but this time the real horror. I was sooo long practiced with that stupid transition and then bring the determined 5 or 6 words I had in my life never heard or seen. Happy guessing, the second ..!
Part 4, Gapped Sentences, was this time not very serious (I think) ... and Part 5, Key Word Transformation was also okay. Then we had

Part 4 - Listening, the think this time I also went not so bad is. The last part was quite difficult but I have a relatively good feeling xD

now in a way I can not even assess where I am, but I think I was not quite as bad. Maybe even enough for a B:)

The result I can by the way on 30 July 10:00 UK time watch on the internet ...

After the exam, at 3:30 pm, I went to Hollywood and took my time somehow rumgebracht up at 7:30. I went to HUMC for "Mighty Love." This is a kind of assembly, where a band consisting of bass, drums, guitar, singer and sang a few background singers, Christian songs. So, I'm not talking so full Christian and so on. The songs were really nice and the lyrics awesome:) I have since also
Debbie and Patti met again, and Kathy, who Pastoring was there. It was really a great evening, and Debbie and I have then e-mail addresses were exchanged:)

All but has lasted only an hour, but I was only at home shortly before 11:00, as I at Fairfax / Venice determined 45 minutes was waiting for my bus -.-

Accordingly, I was tired on the Thursday before my test :-) Speaking
